Why The Name Flat Friends TOP
All wildlife are our friends.
Our soft toys are made from 100% Australian Lambskin, two pieces of lambskin sewn together, they are flat. Hence, the name Flat Friends. They are Flat soft toys and the animals are our Friends.
Each person that buys a Flat Friend adopts the animal, as we pass on 10% of our net profit to the preservation of wildlife. What Are Flat Friends? TOP
What are Flat Friends?
They are Flat Soft Toys and the animals are our friends. Hence the name Flat Friends. We hope by owning one of our soft toys you will learn to love, care for and learn about all animals that occupy our planet, particulary endangered species. 10% of our profit goes towards supporting animal charities.
Our soft toys are made from 100% Australian Lambskin, the bags that come with our soft toys are 100% cotton, and the information swing tickets are made from environmentally friendly boards.
Our range of soft toys come in the shape of many different endangered animals. In developing a soft toy, we do a lot of research to find out about the animal. We manufacture the soft toy to match the real life animal as much as possible. Sometimes in doing this we encounter difficulties as we are converting a three dimensional animal into a two dimensional toy made from lambskin. It can take up to 2 years with many trials and errors before we get an animal right. Strict quality control is enforced in the manufacturing of each animal. The soft toy animal is kept to around
- 30cm in length,
- 25mm fur thickness
- colours used are as close as possible to the real life animal,
- accessories used for eyes, nose, claws, beaks etc and such are premium quality.
Flat Friends are child friendly and safe. They have been quality tested to meet international standards and comply with ASTM, ISO 8124-1:2000 standards and are suitable for all ages.
The Flat Friends range is growing and will include:
- jackets, vests, hats and mittens made from Lambskin
- t-shirts, and polo shirts, made from cotton
- puppets
- soft toys made from cotton
Why We Do It TOP
Flat Friends is about;
- preservation of wildlife and many endangered animals in our world. 10% of net profit from the sale of all merchandise will go towards an animal care fund. This will be spent looking after many endangered animals in the world and their environment.
- educating children and adults about many endangered animals in the world and how our environmental neglect has affected the livelihood of many animals.
- promoting respect and caring of many animals through association. A new born baby will love their flat friend toy animal and from this learn to love, care for, respect and appreciate the real life animal in nature.
The Flat Friends site will be used to share information about
- educational information about animals
- endangered animals, which animals are endangered and why
- environment damage what is happening currently, eg has there been another oil spill, have industries let out waste unnecessarily, has nuclear power caused any problems, what is the government doing to help correct environmental damage
- how we can help to correct environmental damage, can we save any wildlife that may be affected
- conservation and what this means
- having fun by meeting other kids around the world and sharing stories through our forum
- share new stories and information about animals
- pet stories
- games to play and competitions to enter.
